गच्छति (gacchati) - to go to/toward

Gacchati” is a Pali (one of the ancient Indian languages) word that implies to move toward … now, that could be toward one’s goal or future. This mixed media piece (42” x 28”) explores duality of life. The past might have less light as it fades from memory yet, we remember bright moments. The future does imply aging/mortality … yet, wiser new realizations make us seek the unexplored light!

  1. Interesting painting.Where does the bird fly to? The tree looks like the silver tree of Gondor.

    Where are you exhibiting next?

  3. Interesting use of colors. Ethereal. I see profound symbolism in the opposite direction of wind as the bird takes a liberating flight.

  5. The bird has only outlines, no body. Toe it symbolises our unformed aspirations, which are yet to be given a shape.
    Fantastic!

  9. Very attractive and deliberate choice of colors Chirantan. I’m wondering about your central space, is that midday sun under eclipse? Would you be open to a private comission on some ideas we have?
